Shopping

Hello Beautiful Divas! Today is a gorgeous, sunny day! You know what that means... its a perfect day to go shopping! I have to admit its been so long since I've gone shopping and I miss it. I haven't been clothes shopping since Florida... that was a whole month ago!!!! A Month People! I am going through withdrawal. There is just something so exciting and exhilarating going into a store and searching through all the clothes. You think of all the places you could wear the new outfit. That dress and those heels would be perfect for your date. Or maybe that sun hat would be perfect for a casual sunny day. Or maybe that outfit that makes you feel like you could conquer the world. Oh the places your new outfits can take you!

So I finally purchased my own laptop this week! It so beautiful! I got an Apple Macbook Pro with retina display. Its so thin and light. I love its portability. I am sad though that it doesn't have a cd drive  but I guess they don't really make them with cd drives anymore. But the retina display makes everything look so pretty and crisp. I love it. Especially when I am on pinterest. Ahh I love technology.

Sadly that is all the excitement of my week. I've been busy working all week so I haven't had time to research any new beauty things, but tonight I hopefully will start working on project for you guys so stay tuned.

Frustrations

Hello divas! How are you beautiful people doing? If you are like me you have been super busy, and will be even busier in the next few weeks. I will becoming a workaholic and work 6 days a week this summer..why you may ask... and the answer is not a complex one.. in fact its very simple.. I'm too poor...to pay for things like  school. And a phone. And gas. living practically... I mean I'm 18 how am I supposed to pay for all these things? However don't worry this post isn't about me ranting about money its about a completely different rant topic. Relationships. Thats right ladies its time to take out those fake hair extension because its about to get real....and hairy.

So I have been single for a while now... very long while. And I'm not complaining because to be honest its kinda nice being single. However what annoys me is these women who get into relationships and all of a sudden they think their life is complete. They think themselves so wise because now they are in a committed a relationships. I mean really if you can get a guy to like you must certainly know the answer to every problem I have ever had! (note the sarcasm.) You know what I mean those people who come up to you with pity and say "don't worry one day you'll find that special guy who will sweep you off your feet" or one of my personal faves "you'll understand one day honey." Now I'm not hating on all couples and saying single is the best thing ever, because I honestly am one of the biggest hopeless romantics you'll ever meet. I am just stating that just because you are in a relationship doesn't not me that you have won at life.  It is not the end all.

Single people are not doing less with their life because they don't have a significant other. We are fine. We don't need people to pity us with that sad look in your eyes. I am not bitter at all towards couples or people in relationships. I mean if you are in a relationship go you! You commit to your relationship. Have fun. Get to know each other better. But do NOT and I mean do NOT shame single people with the fact that they are single.  Because honestly it doesn't matter. So you are in a relationship and I'm not... big whoop. Life goes on. I am happy. And you know what its very freeing not being in a relationship and having to worry about interacting with your significant other.  Work the life you got, but just remember that just because you are in a relationship it does not give you the right to comment on your single friends life like you are all wise.

End of my rant.

P.S  if you're read this going "oh what a sad pathetic desperate girl this is" then you clearly have missed the point of this post.

A World away...

My whole life I have wanted to be somebody. I want to go places and see things. I want to be part of something great.... I live in a small town with even smaller ambitions. And my life has been simply ordinary. My desires to inspire and live.. really live are bigger than almost any other desires I could fathom of having.

I want to go to the Louvre and stare at artwork for hours. I want to ride a double decker bus in London. I want get a henna tattoo in Dubai. I want to go to the Opera House in Sydney...... I want to see the world that exist outside my small town. There are people with cultures and traditions I have never witnessed. People whose lives are vastly different than mine. I could only hope to one day meet some of those people. Experience their struggles as if they were my own.

Today as I once again look at ways to work abroad in Sydney, my passion is deepened for places I have never been and people I have never met. I can only hope and try to work to one day go there and live. But alas I'm here in my small town with even smaller ambitions.. I am dreaming.

I hope to travel... I hope to dream.

                                     Keep Dreaming,

Love your Skin

My Dear Loves, how are you today? Fierce I hope. Yes, yes I know I haven't posted in forever. I have neglected you and I'm sorry! Hopefully we can move past this. (I think you can, being the sophisticated ladies and gents you are.)

Well summer is upon us and you know what that means.............Sunburn!!! I know you were probably thinking summer dresses, or tan skin, or no school. But for us pale people summer is just one big burn fest.  I mean which is fine if you like looking like a dried prune lobster (prune  lobster? ya I don't know either.) but if you're like most people dead seafood is not look you're going for. And since I have been blessed with having the skin pigment of a whiteboard I have learned a little about skin care. Now these aren't ground breaking by any means. They are just the simple basics that people tend to forget so I though I would just make a little post to remind those who have forgotten or refuse to do the basics to protect their skin.

Sunscreen.
This seems like a no brainer, but really how many times have you thought oh I don't need the sunscreen or I want burn that badly, its cloudy out.. *spoiler alert* You will get sunburn. It will hurt. And most importantly it will damage your skin. Your skin is valuable and fragile if you don't take care of it, it will shrivel up and you will look and feel horrible.

Also make sure you are checking your sunscreens to make sure they haven't gone bad. A lot of people don't know that sunscreen expires, so maybe its time to go through your closets and chuck those bottles of sunscreen you have had  for years. (I know you have old bottles somewhere.)

Another is make sure you are using the right SPF. Is it too high or is it too low? If you have very fair skin and burn easily you would defiantly want a higher SPF. A lot of chapstick and foundations come with sunscreen in them which helps to give you extra protection from those UV rays.

Limit your Time.
Sometimes when you are running around you don't stop to think how long you have been out in the sun. If possible you should take a break and go inside or  go in the shade if you can't go inside. Bring an umbrella or a fabulous sun hat at the very least. But its very important you don't spend the whole day outside.

Moisturize.
Moisturizing is soo important! I mean think about it you have just spent your day in the sun which has been drying out your skin you need to refresh your skin. Creams are most of the time better than lotions, but whatever works better for you. But do NOT forget to moisturize. Your skin will thank you.

Drink WATER!!
I cannot stress this enough. You must drink water. This sounds so basic and irrelevant, but its so important. Most of your body is made of water and wouldn't you think it would be a good idea to replenish your dehydrated skin and body with actually drinking water. Don't just drink sugary sodas or juices. Give your body a break and DRINK WATER! This isn't just good for your skin, but your overall health. Do it. Commit to drinking more water. Take care of your body.

Now I don't want to scare you away from the sun because lets be real you can't hide from the gigantic fire ball in the sky and really who wants to? It feels warm and its good for you! You need that Vitamin D. Its good not only for you physically, but also your mental health. So enjoy the sun, but be smart about it.

P.S. While I was in Florida this waiter was telling us about how he used to live in NY and he said," I was white when I moved down here 10 years ago, and look at me now I'm bacon!" He was probably one of the nicest waiters I have ever had.
